CEVA-NGO Project 2011

"Enhancing & Empowering", 2 Day Workshop on Financial Management of NGOs scheduled for March 14 & 15, 2011 at Chavara Hills, Kakkanad, Kochi.

CEVA-NGO Project 2011 – “Enhancing & Empowering” Inaugural Function - NGOs from all over Kerala were present at the State Level Orientation programme inaugurated by Very Rev. Fr. Jose Panthaplamthottiyil CMI, Prior General and the Patron of CEVA at Chavara Hills, Kakkanad on January 20, 2011. Many dignitaries including Mr. Bonny Joseph of UPS, Rev. Fr. Varghese Kokkadan CMI, Moderator of CEVA, Rev. Fr. Joy Vattoly CMI, Secretary-Treasurer CEVA, Mr. Ignatius, President of CEVA, Rev. Fr. Austine Kalappurackal CMI, Vice-President of CEVA, Rev Fr. Jose Kuriedath CMI, General  Councillor for Education & Communication Media were present.  There was also an “Honoring the Heroes & Heroines of Social Services” at the function.

It was after a very serious study on the life, activities and spirituality of Father Kuriakose Elias Chavara, that Archbishop Antonius Petti, the Promoter General of Faith, for the Causes of Saints, Rome, could present Chavara to Pope John Paul II in 1983, as a pearl truly Indian and Oriental, requesting him for the beatification of the Servant of God Chavara. CEVA is a development organization which provides coordination services to International development partners and Indian NGOs. CEVA is operating at all India level providing professional services ranging from feasibility studies to evaluations to Indian NGO’s, grass root level organizations and International agencies to create a social environment in which the poor and the marginalized are able to lead a dignified human existence.

Our Focus
CEVA visualises itself as a facilitating agency at the service of International Development Organisations, NGDOs (Non Governmental Development Organisations) / Grassroots level organisations and development initiatives from the rural and urban areas by providing consultancy services to improve the quality of life of the poor.

Supporting NGOs in participatory planning, management of resources and evaluation of development projects.
Disseminating emerging trends,strategies and approaches in the field of development.
Organising research studies on issues of development.
Taking up innovative programmes with appropriate strategies and methodology as demonstration/experiment.
Assisting NGOs in mobilising resources to address the needs of the poor and the marginalised.
Conducting training programmes for the grass root level workers.
Projects & Partners
Our main partners in development efforts are International Agencies,, Indian NGO’s & General Department of Social Apostolate of the CMI Congregation. Over the years CEVA has co-ordinated 700 minor and major projects of various International Agencies. Formation and strengthening of People’s organizations, Training Programmes , Literacy & Education, Health & hygiene , Housing and Sanitation, Watershed Management & Drinking water are some of general components of the projects.
