Serving Humanity with Love and Compassion
The vision of the CMI Social Apostolate is inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ and the vision of its founder and patron, Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara. St. Chavara believed in serving the poor, supporting the neglected, and helping people overcome social inequalities and discrimination. His dream was to create a society where everyone could live with dignity and have equal opportunities.
To achieve this vision, the CMI Congregation developed a constitution and implemented various social welfare activities. Through these efforts, the congregation has been able to support marginalized communities and improve their quality of life.
Over the years, the CMI Social Apostolate has become one of the leading voluntary service movements in India. Every year, it reaches thousands of beneficiaries and invests significant resources in programmes for the welfare of the poor and vulnerable.
The apostolate works among communities facing poverty and social exclusion. It strives to meet their basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, and education. Inspired by the belief that all people are members of God's family, the apostolate serves everyone with love and compassion.

Charity and compassion are at the heart of the CMI Social Apostolate. These values guide its social, economic, cultural, and humanitarian activities.
Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara taught that evangelization should lead to personal transformation and service to others. He encouraged people not only to pray but also to actively help those in need. He believed that true faith is expressed through love, service, and concern for the welfare of fellow human beings.
The vision of the Social Apostolate is to serve the poor with love, commitment, and dedication. This vision reflects the words of St. Chavara:
“ Let there be no day in your life in which you did no good to others. ”
Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, the apostolate recognizes the presence of God in every person and serves humanity with respect and compassion.

About CEVA
The VISION of CMI Social Apostolate fledged from the teachings of the Ministry of Jesus vociferously articulated by the congregation was in consonance with the founder & Patron saint, St Kuriakose Elias Chavara’s noble & larger vision of eradicating the rampant , all pervasive social stigmas, the necessity of overcoming queer societal behavior which existed then , aimed at the wellbeing of the neglected sections of the society
